On August 17, 2012, at 1:00 pm, the 911 Center received a report of an injured female who was approximately one mile up the trail from the Swan Creek Trailhead in the Gallatin Canyon.

   Personnel from the Big Sky division of Gallatin County Search and Rescue, the Gallatin County Sheriffs Office, and the Big Sky Fire Department responded.

   The rescue team quickly located the injured party, a 65 year-old female from Big Sky, Montana.  She had been hiking with her husband and injured her ankle.  The rescue team brought her to the trailhead on a wheeled litter.  They returned to the trailhead at approximately 2:41 p.m. and her husband transported her to the hospital.
