Morning Update on Allmendinger Line of Duty Death

(Gallatin County, Mont) October 22 morning update on the line of duty death of Gallatin County Sheriff’s Deputy Jake Allmendinger:

Support

We greatly appreciate the support we have received from around the county, the state, and the country. From all of the calls, texts, Facebook messages and comments, cards, treats, and flowers, to the assistance from other agencies, we are overwhelmed by the love people have showed us during this difficult time.

The fundraiser through the Montana Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association for Jake’s family has been doing great.

While we are aware there may be other fundraisers, the family has requested that folks go through the MSPOA. One hundred percent of money donated to this fund go directly to Jake’s family.

We also encourage monetary donations to ensure no donations go to waste.

Here is a link to info on how folks can donate.

Procession

On Wednesday morning, we will release details about the procession route. Sheriff Brian Gootkin will be available for interviews with the media on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Gallatin County Coordination Center at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. Reporters will be able to tour the center to get footage and photos of the planning process.

Reporters, please contact Gallatin County Communications Coordinator Whitney Bermes with any questions.
