Morning update on Allmendinger line of duty death

Oct. 21 morning update on the line of duty death of Gallatin County Sheriff’s Deputy Jake Allmendinger:

Escort to Billings

This morning, the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office was joined by 14 other law enforcement and fire responder agencies in escorting Deputy Jake Allmendinger to the state medical examiner’s office in Billings.

“We haven’t left Jake’s side and we won’t. This escort is about showing our respect for one of our own who died in the line of duty,” Gallatin County Sheriff Brian Gootkin said.

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office led the escort. Agencies that also took part in helping to escort Jake to Billings included police departments from Bozeman, Belgrade, Livingston and Billings; sheriff’s offices from Broadwater, Carbon, Lewis and Clark, Park, Sweet Grass and Yellowstone counties; and the Montana Highway Patrol, U.S. Forest Service, Bozeman Fire Department and American Medical Response.
