Missing Man Located

On Monday, September 26th, around 1:15 am, the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a missing 26 year-old developmentally disabled male.  Deputies immediately began searching an area south of Amsterdam Road.  They began searching this area outside of Belgrade based on information gained from the man’s cell phone.  Deputies were joined by the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue as well.  The search efforts included an aerial search with the assistance of Central Helicopters.

The Air Force Rescue Coordination Center was able to provide searchers more detailed information from the man’s cell phone that helped narrow down the search area.  At approximately 11:30 pm searchers located the male,  who was unfortunately found deceased.  The cause of death and the man’s identity is not being released pending notification of the man’s family.  However, the Sheriff would like citizens to know there is no threat to public safety related to this case.
