(Bozeman, Mont.) At about 1:00 A.M. this morning Bozeman Police responded to a 911 hang up call at the Microtel Inn on Nikles Drive near North 7th Ave and Griffin.  A child caller was on the line and made a statement about being scared and there being a “bad guy” in the room.  When Officers arrived they contacted a male suspect who was not compliant with officers and attempted to jump out a window before locking himself in the hotel room with a young male.  During the incident there were possible gun shots heard within the room also.  Officers have evacuated affected guests in the hotel and currently have the scene contained to a hotel room.

The Gallatin County – Bozeman Police Special Response Team is on scene and hostage negotiators are in contact with the suspect in the room.  Bozeman Police Chief Steve Crawford states that some roads in the area are blocked and asks that the public use alternate routes to avoid delays.  There is no danger to the public in the area at this time.  More information will be released later this morning as it becomes available.
