Great Day, Nice Hike, Bad Fall

(Gallatin County Mont.) On Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 11:03 AM Gallatin County 911 received a report of an injured hiker on the Middle Cottonwood Trail north of Bozeman. Volunteer Rescuers from Sheriff’s Search and Rescue and the Central Valley Fire Department responded to the area.  The 67 year old Bozeman resident was on a hike with other members of the Bozeman Senior Center when she tripped and fell, injuring her ankle.  Another group of hikers was able to use a cell phone to call for help.  Rescuers located the patient approximately 1.5 miles from the trailhead.  Medics were able to stabilize the patient on scene.  The patient was transported out by one wheel liter to a waiting Central Valley Fire Ambulance by SAR and Fire Fighters.  The patient was then transported to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. ####
