(Bozeman, Mont.) On October 21, 2013, at 6:51 pm, the Search and Rescue group of the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible injured hiker between Hardscrabble Peak and Sacajawea Peak in the Bridger Mountains. 34 Search and Rescue volunteers responded along with Summit Air Ambulance to assist in locating the hiker. The hiker from Bozeman was with two friends. The first reports of an injury were inaccurate due to poor communication; the three males made their way off the west side of the Bridger’s where they were spotted by Summit Air. The three males, with help from Summit, were able to make their way down to the Corbly Gulch Trailhead, where they were met by Gallatin County Sheriff’s Deputies.
