Child/Parent Safety Information

For Immediate Release:

Belgrade, Mont. — On August 30, 2013, the Belgrade Police Department received information from staff at Quaw-Heck Elementary School that an adult male approached a student with the school’s After School Program. The male reportedly called the student over to the playground fence and offered the student candy. A staff member observed the interaction and called for the student to come back towards the school, at which time the male turned and walked away on foot. The incident was reported to have taken place at approximately 5:00pm on August 29th. The male is described as an adult white male, approximately 30-35 years old, with short dark hair, a medium build and of medium height. He was said to be wearing a blue Montana State Bobcat t-shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Belgrade Police Department at (406)388-4262. The Belgrade Police Department would like to remind parents and child care providers remain vigilant and to speak with their children often about safety plans and interactions with strangers.
